Transit in the Riverview Corridor (light rail, modern streetcar or bus rapid transit) could operate in two types of guideway:
- Dedicated Lane: Used only by transit, less affected by traffic.
- Shared Lane: Used by transit and other vehicles, more affected by traffic.
- Hybrid: a combination of dedicated and shared lanes. Dedicated lanes are used where the right-of-way is available while shared lanes are used when right-of-way is constrained.

Transit in the Riverview Corridor could also operate as a combination of dedicated and shared lanes called a hybrid. The choice of where it could be dedicated and where it could be shared depends on the desired uses for cars, on-street parking, transit, bikes and pedestrians within the available right of way.
